Do I need to pay to volunteer?

There is no fee to volunteer. However, volunteers cover their own travel, accommodation, meals, and living expenses. We can provide guidance on affordable local options.

Where will I stay?

We can recommend safe, affordable guesthouses near our home in Mityana. Some volunteers choose to stay with local host families for a cultural experience.

Is Uganda safe for volunteers?

Yes, Uganda is generally safe and welcoming. We provide orientation on local customs, safety tips, and 24/7 support during your stay.

Can I volunteer virtually?

Absolutely! Virtual volunteers help with website updates, social media, grant writing, tutoring via video call, and more.

Do I need to speak Luganda?

Not at all. English is widely spoken, and children enjoy practicing with native speakers. Learning a few Luganda phrases is encouraged though!

What should I bring?

We'll provide a detailed packing list after your application is accepted. Generally: light clothing, comfortable shoes, and any specific supplies for your volunteer activities.
